| India’s Suraj Stainless Ltd, a producer of stainless seamless pipe and tube, wants to expand its capacity to 26,000 tpy from 12,000 tpy. The Ahmedabad-based company will build its fourth facility at Kadi, near Mehasana in Gujarat state, at a cost of Rs 700 million ($17.4 million), a company spokesman told press. "Currently, the company has 20 production lines and we plan to add another 40 lines as part of the new plant, which will scale up the production capacity for seamless pipes and tubes to 26,000 tpy," said gm Rajesh Pillai. The company also produces around 8,000 tons of welded pipes. Suraj Stainless is also an export house and had and a turnover of Rs 2.8 billion during2007/2008 |
